What is Ceramic Coating?
Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that chemically bonds to your vehicle's paintwork, creating a permanent or semi-permanent layer of protection. Unlike traditional waxes or sealants that sit on top of the paint and wash away over time, ceramic coatings form a molecular bond with the clear coat.
This results in a hydrophobic, self-cleaning surface with dramatically enhanced gloss and depth. Water, dirt, and contaminants bead and sheet off the surface, making maintenance significantly easier and less frequent.
At Dainton's, we offer a tiered range of professional-grade ceramic coatings to suit every vehicle and budget, from entry-level protection to premium multi-year systems.
Benefits of Ceramic Coating
Protection and aesthetics, combined
Superior Gloss
Amplifies the depth and clarity of your paint, producing a wet-look shine that lasts for years.
UV Protection
Protects your paintwork from sun damage, fading, and oxidation caused by UV exposure.
Hydrophobic Surface
Water and contaminants bead and slide off, keeping your vehicle cleaner for longer between washes.
Chemical Resistance
Resists bird droppings, tree sap, road salt, and other chemicals that can damage unprotected paintwork.
Scratch Resistance
The hardened ceramic layer adds resistance to light marring and swirl marks from washing.
Low Maintenance
Dramatically reduces the effort and frequency required to keep your vehicle looking its best.

Common Questions
Yes. Ceramic coating significantly reduces maintenance time and cost, protects against UV damage and chemical staining, and maintains a higher resale value. Over its lifespan, the coating pays for itself many times over compared to regular waxing and detailing.
Ceramic coating adds a layer of hardness that resists light marring from washing, but it is not a physical barrier against stone chips or deep scratches. For impact protection, we recommend PPF, often combined with ceramic coating on top for the best of both worlds.
Maintenance is simple. Hand wash with pH-neutral shampoo, avoid abrasive products, and dry with a microfibre cloth. The hydrophobic surface means contaminants release easily. We also offer annual maintenance top-up services to refresh the coating's properties.
What Our Coating Clients Say
Ceramic coating on my Mercedes C63 looks incredible. The gloss and hydrophobic effect is genuinely impressive. Water just sheers off the bodywork. Professional service from start to finish with clear communication throughout.
Had my Jaguar F-Type detailed and coated. Chris collected the car from my home and returned it two days later looking absolutely stunning. The collection and delivery alone sets them apart from the competition.
Do You Need PPF Instead — or Both?
Ceramic Coating — What it is
Ceramic coating chemically bonds to your paint to add gloss, UV resistance, and a hydrophobic surface. It is the best way to make your car easier to keep clean and maintain a showroom finish long-term.
Does not stop stone chips. Ceramic coating is measured in microns — a stone chip travelling at motorway speed will pass straight through it.
When You Also Need PPF
If you drive on motorways or A-roads, PPF on the front panels (bonnet, bumper, wings) is the only way to prevent stone chip damage. The most popular combination: PPF on the front, ceramic coating across the whole vehicle.
Partial PPF wrap from £1,200. Combined with ceramic coating, this covers all the risks in one treatment.
